WHAT WE BELIEVE!
Statement of Faith
Approved by Dr. Herbert J. McClain
1. The Bible as God’s Word
We believe the Holy Scriptures are the divinely inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. As originally given, they are trustworthy and serve as the supreme guide for all matters of faith and practice.
Hebrews 4:12; Matthew 5:17–18; 2 Timothy 3:16–17; Psalm 119:160
2. The Indwelling Holy Spirit
We affirm that the Holy Spirit lives within all true believers, equipping them to live godly lives, testify of Christ, and serve effectively in His name.
Mark 13:11; Matthew 10:19–20; Luke 12:11–12; Romans 8:1–17; 1 Corinthians 11:4–11; Galatians 5:13–25
3. The Triune God
We worship one eternal God who exists in three co-equal and co-eternal Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Matthew 3:16–17; Matthew 28:19; John 15:26; 2 Corinthians 13:14
4. Salvation by Grace Through Faith
Salvation is a gift of God’s grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ alone—not by works. We are saved through His atoning sacrifice and the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit.
Ephesians 2:8–9; Romans 3:21–28; Romans 5:1–11
5. Jesus Christ, Lord and Savior
Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man. We affirm His virgin birth, sinless life, miraculous works, substitutionary death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, ongoing intercession, and promised return in glory.
1 Corinthians 15:3–4; Hebrews 7:25–27; John 1:1–4; Romans 5:6–8; Colossians 1:15–20
6. The Resurrection and Eternal Destiny
We believe in the bodily resurrection of all people: the saved to eternal life, and the lost to eternal separation from God.
John 5:28–29; Matthew 25:46; 1 Thessalonians 4:13–17; 1 Peter 1:3–5
7. The Unity of Believers
All true believers are spiritually united in Christ. We recognize the church as His body, called to live in love, unity, and mutual support.
John 17:20–23; Ephesians 4:4–6; 1 Corinthians 12:12–26; Galatians 3:26–29
